Paul SAUTIERE

 

Brief Biography

 

 

 

Paul SAUTIERE   Paul SAUTIERE is born on February 15th, 1918 in Compiegne (Oise - France).

     Paul Sautière joined the French Navy in December 1935. He had various assignments until December 1943, and then he was assigned to the Free French Admiralty in Algiers.


     At the end of December 1943, he volunteered to carry out special missions in France occupied, like his Sussex comrades he received special trainings in the joint M.I. 6 and O.S.S school located in Saint Albans. As "Marbot" team member, Paul Sautière was dropped, by the Carpetbagger, near Rochefort sur Loire in the night of June 1st, 1944.


     After this mission, Paul Sautière was dispatched in April 1945 to the Far East, and then in July of this same year he was involved with the DGER (French Intelligence Organization). He carried out many other missions in South Vietnam and Cambodia until November 1946.


     From 1948 to 1950 he worked as radio-telegrapher for the Air France Company.


     From 1950 to 1983, as transmission dispatcher within the DGER, Paul Sautière was in charge of several foreign stations: Teheran, Phnom Penh, Algiers.


     In March 1983 Paul Sautière took a well deserved retirement.

 

     Paul SAUTIERE died December 12, 2007.
